Meet Captain Planet, the resilient Nanday Conure with a story as captivating as his name! At an estimated age of 20, Captain Planet has experienced quite a journey. His history is a common tale among parrot companions, shrouded in mystery as he passed through multiple hands before finding his way to Papayago Rescue House in 2020.

His past includes a less-than-ideal diet of wild bird seed, confinement in a cramped cage, and unfortunate exposure to second-hand smoke. The latter had a significant impact on his health, leading to mineralized lungs and contributing to his heart disease. To add to his challenges, a previously broken leg, left untreated, has left him with a permanent wobble.

Despite his past hardships, Captain Planet’s spirit remains unbroken. Through a combination of medication, a carefully tailored diet, and an abundance of love and care, he has made remarkable progress. His feathers have regained their luster, his voice has returned, and his zest for life is evident in every beep and playful moment.
