Pablo Escobar the Congo African Grey (CAG) joined Papayago Rescue House in 2015. His previous mom was juggling a lot—back in school and raising two teenagers—so even though it was a difficult decision, she knew she couldn’t provide Pablo with the time, quality care, and veterinary attention he needed. At PRH, Pablo has found a home that meets all his needs, along with an extended family of feathered friends.

Pablo’s life at PRH is full of enrichment. He gets fresh food daily, storytime, and regular out-time with other African Greys. One of his favorite human friends is Maria, our CEO, who often stops by to spend time with him. Parrots like Pablo are given a safe, comfortable place at PRH until they either find their perfect match or, in some cases, become permanent sanctuary birds due to special needs or preferences.

With a unique personality and a knack for companionship, Pablo has a happy, fulfilling life with us while he waits for the right family.

Monthly donors make a difference in the lives of birds like Pablo, covering the costs of nutritious food, toys, medical care, and other needs. If you’d like to support Pablo’s care, your help would mean the world to him. Join us in ensuring he—and other birds like him—have a safe, enriching environment to call home.
